PIBA 35th Annual Taste Of The Island

Wait, What? The Taste of the Island won’t be ON the Island?
Over the last three-plus decades, the Taste has always been on the Island. An Island event for Islanders. And every year we speak to not only our participating restaurants, but to those who choose not to participate. And we have increasingly been told that with the expense and work that our fine eateries put into the effort, the vast majority of the ticketed guests are fellow Islanders. In other words, they are exposed their existing customers. While it's a great way to interact and thank Island patrons, they are not showcasing their cuisine to potential new customers.
The PIBA Board of Directors and the Taste of the Island committee recognizes the mission of the organization is to enhance the business industry of the Island. Taking the Island OTB and marketing the event to include mainland residents will expose foodies to our delicious Island grub and gain new customers for our restaurant members. This is not to discourage Island residents and patrons who undoubtedly will support our food purveyors nonetheless and attend. Keep an eye out for tickets and it’s not too late to become a sponsor.
