FAREWELL TO COMMISSIONER MIKE PUSLEY & WELCOME COUNTY COMMISSIONER CAROLYN VAUGHN

It is with mixed emotions that I offer this fond farewell to County Commissioner Mike Pusley. He has been an outstanding County Commissioner for Precinct 1 and has helped me immensely ever since I was sworn into office as County Commissioner for Precinct 4. Mike Pusley never told me no when I asked for his help and support in all the projects important to me in Precinct 4. Mike Pusley has worked hard for his constituents in Precinct 1 while continuing to help with projects all over Nueces County. While we all have our jobs to do representing our precincts Mike Pusley has always looked beyond precinct lines for the overall good of Nueces County. For those of you wondering why he resigned there is a law that states if you run for County Judge as he is or any other elected position mid-term a person has to resign his position according to the Texas Constitution. He has done a great job as Nueces County Commissioner Precinct 1 and he will be missed.

That being said I am also very happy to welcome incoming Precinct 1 County Commissioner Carolyn Vaughn who has been appointed by Judge Loyd Neal to fill out Commissioner Pusley’s term. Carolyn has been a strong advocate for her constituents as a City Councilwoman for the City of Corpus Christi. She is a strong fiscal conservative and will help me in my constant quest to not raise taxes. Welcome aboard Carolyn. I look forward to working with you. I know you will be a strong advocate for Precinct 1 and Nueces County as a whole.

PORT ARANSAS ARANSAS PASS AND NORTH PADRE ISLAND CONTINUE THEIR HURRICANE RECOVERY

The battle wages on and the Coastal Bend is winning. Things are really looking up in all the affected hurricane areas. BUT, the fight is not over and these folks need your help more than ever. Every day I am in Port A it seems something else is opening up. That is great news. Tell your friends and neighbors to please not forget Harvey devastated these areas and to not forget they need you now more than ever. Have a blessed day and thank you for allowing me to serve.
