NEWLY FORMED NUECES COUNTY INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION FORMED

County Judge Barbara Canales has hit the ground running. One of her new projects has been to create a Nueces County Industrial Commission that provides the focus on Nueces County. The Nueces County Commissioners Court unanimously approved this. The Commission is charged with providing laser focus on creating economic development opportunities for Nueces County. Why is this important? It is important because currently there is no entity that focuses on all of Nueces County and only on Nueces County. Judge Canales saw a need and I appreciate it. The commission is appointed only by Judge Canales. Here is the list of those recently appointed by Judge Canales in no particular order:

Lindsey Pietsch, George Finley, Sandra Alvarez, San Juan Garcia, Matilda Saenz, Cindy Barrera, Govind Nadkarni, Dan Leyendecker, Wendy Herman, Ian Vasey, and Sean Strawbridge.

Thank you to all of these fine citizens for their willingness to serve. Now go drum up a lot of business for Nueces County!!

PARKER POOL IN FLOUR BLUFF IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND WILL OPEN HOPEFULLY IN MAY

If you have driven by Parker Pool in Flour Bluff lately you will see that a lot of work is being done. I am very excited about this project. This is the only community pool in my precinct and I am pleased that Nueces County has taken this over. The Nueces County Inland Parks staff and the Coastal Bend Friends of Aquatics have been working very hard to get this pool ready to open. Our hope is to have a grand opening Friday May 24t at 10 am. Stay tuned….

IT IS NOT TOO EARLY TO SUBMIT YOUR BUDGET SUGGESTIONS

In a very short period of time we will undertake the beginning of the budget process. As someone who tries to watch our pennies closely I welcome your suggestions for any changes that need to be made to our budget. SANDCASTLE RUN SPONSORSHIPS ARE FILLING UP BUT THERE IS STILL TIME

I am pleased to report that this community has responded wonderfully to the Sandcastle Run to be held on Saturday July 20, 2019. Thank you to all the sponsors who have signed up. Please take a moment and reach out if you would like to sponsor this event that raises money for children with Diabetes to go to summer camp. Every single dollar raised by you goes directly to the American Diabetes Association and the money stays right here in the Coastal Bend. All expenses are covered and your money goes directly to help the children. Please call my office if you would like to help. Thanks.

As always thank you for the opportunity to serve and God Bless. Please remember our upcoming FREE community health fairs;
